Working with other to achieve their goals is my passion because I know what it feels like to be confused and frustrated about your current life situation and be unsure on how to change direction. I know this because in In my late forties I felt exactly the same way and I chose to reinvent my life.
During that time, I had to honestly reevaluate where I was in my life, make difficult changes, educate myself, and move forward in sometimes uncomfortable decisions.
It definitely wasn't always easy and I often wished I had someone I could share those experiences and challenges with that understood what I was going through.
I am proud to say that honoring my choices and decisions is what led me to my path of Health & Wellness coaching and Meditation & Yoga teaching.
I want to be the person you can lean into and share your experiences and challenges with along the way. I completely understand where you are and I want to help you create the balanced and purposeful future you desire.
A few questions I have been asked:
Tell me a little bit more on why you became a Heath & Wellness Coach...
Personal experiences really shifted my perspective on who I felt I was and where I wanted to be. But it was not only the changes I was going through personally but also having several friends become ill with life-altering illnesses that cause me to come to the realization that we must have a much more integrative approach to our wellness that includes the body, mind, and a sense of purpose. We need to be balanced on all levels of our being: physically, mentally and emotionally and for me Health & Wellness Coaching is a way to help others incorporate those changes in their lives.
Why did you become a Meditation and Yoga instructor?
Teaching meditation and yoga developed out of my own 20+ year yogic practice. With all the changes that were happening in my life, I found yoga and meditation helped me stay anchored and able to navigate the changes in the manner that I desired.
What type of clients do you work with?
I enjoy working with any one who is open to the experience of change and the desire to grow.
Also in addition to seeing private clients, I am also blessed to be able to work at the Mayo Clinic Hospital and work often with people with a diagnosis of cancer or other illnesses.

The NBC-HWC designation stands for Nationally Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach. Currently here are currently only about 5,000 national-board certified coaches. To earn this designation you have to complete a Master Certified coaching program and then take a 4 hour scenario-based exam that covering topics such as chronic disease, lifestyle choices, and various types of coaching. The NBHWC Board works with the American Medical Association to set the standards for the criteria for the exam for coaches so that eventually coaching may be covered by insurance.
Many Life Coaching certifications are attained in about 6 weeks. NBC-HWC training takes over a year (and many programs you have to have your Bachelor's degree as well) and covers many different aspects of training including nutrition, chronic disease, and many aspects of coaching. A NBC-HWC coach can do life coaching and so much more.
No, unfortunately, it is not within my scope of practice to create a specific meal plan or diet for you (that is a dietician or nutritionalist). What I can do is help you figure out better food options and what is and is not working for you in your life so that you can make choices that work specifically for you.
Pricing for sessions will vary depending on the type of session, length of class, number of participants, and whether it is virtual or in-person.
Absolutely. The session will be longer than one hour but that can be arranged.
The answer depends on where you are starting from. Usually people see results if they do it a couple times a week when starting out.
